Computer Applications

The textbook we will be using is Microsoft Office 2010 and Advanced.

The objectives will be:

  1. To offer and introduction to Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft Excel 2010, Microsoft Access 2010, Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, and Microsoft Outlook 2010.
  2. To go beyond the fundaments and offer an in-depth presentation to Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, Microsoft Excel 2010, Microsoft Access 2010, and Microsoft Outlook 2010.
  3. To expose students to practical examples of the computer as a useful tool.
  4. To acquaint students with the proper procedures to create documents, worksheets, databases, and presentations suitable for coursework, professional purposes, and personal use.
  5. To help students discover the underlying functionality of Office 2010 so they can become more productive.
  6. To develop an exercise-oriented approach that allows learning by doing.

 

Class Expectations

A business atmosphere will provide the work environment for this class. Following lecture and guided demonstrations, students will work independently in class to complete work. Students will abide by the rules in the student handbook along with the class rules.

Grading

Grading will be based off total points.
