Welcome to the 2nd grade website.  I hope this site will be a resource for both my students and parents.  My goal is that this site can provide a means of communication between school and home.

My name is Debbie Michels and this is my tenth year of teaching.  Prior to coming to Elgin, I taught second and third grade in Mott.

I enjoy finding new ways and ideas to teach.  The students will be doing a lot of hands on and experiments this year.

My family consists of my husband Rick who works at First International Bank.  We have three grown children; Katie, Chelsey and Kyle.  We have been blessed with four beautiful granddaughters;  Kiley, Jaela, Adleigh, and Kenlee and a handsome grandson; Braddex.  I enjoy being out in nature, camping, photography, scrap booking and sitting by my pond feeding my fish.
